A few things about our rankings…

We have spent hundreds of hours combing tournaments, profiles, and using our own eyes to come up with these rankings.  We value your opinion as inevitably we have some things wrong.  And inevitably, so do you!  That is what is so great about these rankings.  

There is no formula that can accurately rank these athletes.  It is subjective.  Things we take into consideration…

• Full Body of Work – We are not looking at one tournament or one match.  What have you done over the course of the season?  That is what is important to the ratings.
• Level of competition faced – You could be 27-3, but if you have just sat in the local tourneys and haven’t faced a competitive schedule, that does factor in!
• Wins and losses – This is relevant.  Again, 27-3 against local competition may not compare to 25-18 if the second wrestler is hunting good competition.
• Depth of the Division – There are some divisions that are absolutely loaded; and some that are not.  This has a big impact on who is rated and who isn’t from a simple numbers perspective. There are many divisions that carry a full 20 Roxa Rated wrestlers.  And some that don’t.  A 90lb division could have 30 high quality wrestlers that we have identified and evaluated.  And the 95lb division right above it could have 15.  We rate up to 20 wrestlers in each division.
• Head-to-Head – This will inevitably cause the most controversy.  If you insist on being rated ahead of someone that you have beaten, you have to insist on being rated behind those that you have lost to.  This is mathematically impossible to create rankings with.  Do we factor it in?  Absolutely we do!  Is a head-to-head result the ultimate factor in ratings?  Absolutely not.  Will there be some kids ranked ahead of kids that they have lost to?  Absolutely

We value your thoughts on the matter.  We are perfectly fine if you disagree.  There will be zero tolerance for belittling kids in the comments.  Those who violate this will lose their ability to comment.
